    oscommerce is the one which will do all these things...

    it is based on php and with mysql database.

    Hope this is what u r looking for..... if not ... pls eloborate....

    Language? Any OOP can do that (object-oriented programming language). Perl, Python, many people use PHP...

    The second doesn't need a script, unless you want the dropdown to stay visible after someone clicks. Then, you'd still have a normal HTML menu enhanced with Javascript to do some onClick work.

    As said above, OSCommerce is probably what you are looking for without learning a language like PHP.

    It's an open source (free) shopping cart script. It is written in php and utilizes a mySQL databse. Here is the link.

    Basically, it allows you to set up a ecommerce website without much programming knowledge, you can use the content managment system to add new, edit, delete products etc...
