Rumors have it that Yahoo may actually outsource their search ads to Google. Would be huge for google, and probably more profitable for Yahoo. Probably not a good thing for publishers, especially those who get banned from google for a crappy reason.

Yahoo has been struglling for quite a while. Yes, they hold a decent share of the internet pie but if you have been watching closely you'd notice that several different pieces of the yahoo pie are disappearing or struggling. The dominate in some areas while they are struggling in others - those of which have been getting purged.

I still stick to my guns about yahoo dropping the ball by turning down microsoft's offer of $44.6B, especially since news has been coming out that they are actively seeking suitors in a web marriage, but are coming up short handed on offers.

I was just reading an article that stated the following:

Isn't it funny how the only people thinking that a $44.6 billion dollar offer = undervalued are the execs at yahoo? Maybe they should take the hint that no one else wants them, and sell-sell-sell...

You can read the full article hxxp://www.thestreet.com/_yahoo/newsanalysis/technet/10403400.html?cm_ven=YAHOO&cm_cat=FREE&cm_ite=NA

And just in case this is necessary: I do not own any stock in either of the mentioned stocks above, I am simply intrigued with this possible sell off.

Yahoo is still a great mail company as well. Google is mainly just a search company that makes money from selling ads on their pages. Yahoo offers much more.

Yahoo won't sell for less than $50, that's for sure. On the news tonight there was more on Rupert Murdoch's takeover bid on Yahoo. How sick would it be if Myspace merged with Yahoo, Flickr and Yahoo Answers? Although if this takeover bid does progress - where will Google stand after they bought shares in Myspace? Is Murdoch going to say 'thanks, but no thanks' to Mr G or Mr Y's search to power Myspace?

That guy's a bit old to be throwing that kinda money around, isn't he? Although he has got like 5 or 6 kids who'd happily take over daddy's fortunes.

Yahoo owned by MS wouldn't be good for anyone.
Of course Microsoft could well just squander the value of Yahoo if they were indeed able to acquire it.

Yahoo is smart for doing this dont just sell from the first bid, microsoft really wants it so they should suck every cent they can off of them, rumors are microsoft is coming back with a 55bill offer.

Well that was a waste of a read, just read all the posts and some are just plain stupid .... can someone tell me who owns MSN ? Answer this .... How much of the internet can Google legally own ?

I am not even fazed who owns what or what owns who .... really .... I am selfish and I try to focus on my own sites and business, I try not to get involved with these distractions .... but yet I am on DP 15% of the day .... mmmmm

You can expect much better search experience through Yahoo after this acquisition would happen. The Microsoft would easily pass the google’s no 1 flag.
