Hey designers ... I just put together an online interface for my procedure to create multiple colored gradients. The page is here: http://betterwindowssoftware.com/multigradient.php. There's links to start from a saved gradient, and a couple buttons to create random 3-color, 4-color, 5-color and ?-colors gradients. You can specify as many of the 100 color values as needed to make your gradients. The resultant PNG will only use the 100 colors as represented and won't create intermediate colors even if the width is greater than 100 - in other words, the 100 colors are stretched to whatever size is needed when generating the final PNG. Once the gradient colors are designed, the resultant PNG can be created with either horizontal or vertical and whatever size up to 1500x1500px. You'll currently have to right-click and save the images. Here's some example gradients that were created for fun ... Note: these images are 182 bytes, 334 bytes, 262 bytes, 200 bytes respectively With the same graphics, the final files are fairly tiny using PNG 24 bit when compared to GIF or JPG.
