Can I return the cheque to google, and the add the balance to my credit back? Is there someway to do so... I'm not happy with the name on the cheque and would like send it back and change it from the account for new payments.
You may ask google to stop check and back money to the account. Just request it and include Check Number and Date issue
If you request for stop payment of check then there is charge for that IMO. Just confirm this with google before doing this DON.
You should try to contact them directly to let them know your situation. You can email them at ( adsense-support @ google.com ) or there is a contact form available at www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/request.py
Just don't deposit the check for clearing and it will automatically expire after 6 months and request a payment hold in your account.
I asked Google to change my payee name, then I'll ask them again to re-issuse the cheque. Will this work?

they only send out checks with the name on the account. they only change the name on the account if it wrong or you had your name legally changed.
Changed the payee name from my name to my elder brother name who'e eligible to cash the check. I already changed it, and asked them to re-issue the check with the new payee name and cancel the old one.
why is he eligible to cash a check and your not? is it because your under 18?if so,don't be surprised if they close your account and don't allow you to open another one.
I'm 19, but in Egypt you must be at least 21 to open a bank account and cash the check. So, I can register to AdSense but can't cash the check myself. btw, I contacted Google, and they accepted my request, and cancelled the old check, made a reissue to it, and said it will be credit back in my AdSense account in 15 days! That's REALLY GREAT NEWS!!!!
