It would be great to hear everyone's views based on their experiences on this question ... Also, what other factors can help a site in getting out of the sandbox?
I've always thought that adding too many backlinks too quickly can sometimes trigger the sandbox filter? Didn't know even more backlinks could pull you back out.
I do not think that backlinks will pull you out, I just think it must be endured, except for blogs...they never seem to get sandboxed.
there's no definite amount of links required to get out of the so-called sandbox.. just that gathering backlinks could help you indexed faster
continue doing good work with your site. Build it for the users and not for search engines. Add useful fresh content and it will be out of sandbox.
I think its not just links that sets as a basis to get out of the sandbox. providing quality content and updating regularly the site is more effective...
It's not the quantity, it's the quality. You can get just about any site out the 'sandbox' with quality, related links.
You just got to serv the time, the worst thing you can do is go for quantity links whilst you are in and not quality, don't overdo it or you will get a big fat google-slap when you drop out.
I´m still in the sandbox with one new site - almost one year in the sandbox now. I´ve built over 1200 inbound links in one year, the majority being in the last 6 months, according to webmaster tools..... frustrating....
Why does google punish you for getting to many backlinks to fast? I can't keep controll over who links to my sites - this opens up for the posibility that I could sandbox new competing sites to avoid competition for a few more months. I call unfair!
