Is Google Updating PR Again?

My two of web sites have been penalized in page rank in couple of week. In the last December/January PR update, I got PR3 for CoolSeller Web Directory and a Blog.
My Blog PR disappear 3-4 weeks back and never came back.

Now this week I noticed CoolSeller’s PR disappear. I checked from iwebtools pagerank, it still showing current 3 and future 5. But I can’t see any PR in my explorer bar.

Is it temporary or Google again started PR updating again.
And why I have been penalized.


Any one else experiencing it...

 

Someone on another webmaster forum said it was mysmehmood, as their site went from PR0 to a PR2 or something. Too eary to tell perhaps? Forget iwebtools pagerank predictor, its about as accurate as the weather forcasters in the uk, they always get it wrong.

 

If you have seen the pr go down (disappear) then its possibly penalisation, manual, auto, i dont know how they do it, but possibly your hit.

By the way Jamie, you should set up one of your own while your at it, in between your studies, dont tell me you cant squeeze it in plenty students here and members with full time jobs and their online projects.

 

IMO - the disappearance of PR is not unusual. Googlers are always watching sites with their fingers on the mouse and if they find sites violating their TOS -they just click the right button. Its a continuous process.

A big example of how Googlers review directories has been well documented. One of the biggest directories on the web-- Aviva Directory was reviewed by Matt Cuts for about 2 mins and he decided that -- Aviva Directory has no right to charge review fees if it asking for Reciprocal link too.

LOL-- he didn't even check the submit page properly before clicking on the mouse Thats the tragedy. If Matt, head of Google's anti-spam team himself reviews sites like that-- one can only imagine those click hungry guys at Google who work under him.

Yep, it's a penalty..My friend's PR6 directory was penalized and it's PR0 now..

 

I don't know if this is true, but I read somewhere that Google has about 10,000 employees in India whose only job is to manually check websites. If so, maybe they downgrade sites that have certain visible characteristics.

 

I heard that their total employee strength is only 6000+....

 

Might be just a rumour though, imagine the damage they could do, they could be biased towards sites from a particular country and destroy, i cant imagine anything is being done by hand as much as people worry about.

I feel at most its things like lurkers picking out a site and reporting it here and wherever else but the idea of things being done the slow way, when the whole idea of algos and updating them, adding new ones is to automate the world.

Imagine it, spend money on 10,000 employees or employ 10 top mathematicians, i know what i would do.

Well one or two reasons could be that your "CoolSeller's Choice" arent using "no follow" and are "sitewide"
which would mean that your passing link juice as well as the "Top Hits page" is doing the same...

just saying that this could be a reason but nothing more as i have to agree that whomever is checking
these sites at google isnt doing a good job and checking internal pages for sitewides as many "only" offer
homepage listings yet are being deducted PR for infractions...

google penalties, I lost a PR5 sob sob sob....

 

Google Pr is automatically update but there is some case recently google penalty the site owner spc. dir those are selling paid link

 

I do not think so Googlr PR updated after 26 October,07. After this day i had seen few changes in my sites PR. But after that i didn't see any changes in PR. Might be it's going update soon but not updated after 26,October,07..............
