Search Engine for sale - Great script, design, and domain! Finzie.com

    Hello,

    I am selling:
    http://www.finzie.com

Finzie is a pretty new search engine. I bought the name Finzie because I thought it was interesting and catchy. I built a custom design around a script I found and modded.

The site has SEO friendly links (another customization I did) and SEO friendly pages. Google has started indexing the site and it has over 400 pages in the index already.

The result pages are all seo friendly as well:
    http://finzie.com/digitalpoint+forums.html

I've integrated AdSense into the layout for the main page and the results. Although I haven't had a lot of clicks, there is huge potential in you move the ads around a bit.

    Bid Information
    Starting bid: $50
BIN: Will set once we receive a few bids.

If you have any questions, please ask.

    Thanks,
    Luke

A search for stories produces results consisting mainly of a single site called theworldstopstories.com and then some more from another single site called www.johncow.com!

    Whatup???

I'm not sure what you're asking. Those are two of the sites indexed and they contain data about "stories"...lol. That's exactly what a search is...
The revenue is very small (like $2 for the past month or so). Like I said, you'll have to do some promotion to get things going and move the ads around a bit maybe.

Still waiting for the starting bid of just $50. Domain is at GoDaddy and you will receive a free push.

Here is a screenshot of the admin backend. It's very nice. You can easily add and index sites. You can also edit settings and view stats.

What I was trying to point out, was that the results for a random search such as stories, produced amazingly limited and not at all relavent results.

I was wondering if I had to take some additional steps or do some thing else, in order to widen the search, so that it would produce more relavent results.

I have purchased 3 other searchengines from DP recently and have not found a similar problem with any of them.

You can make changes to how results are brought up in the admin backend. There's a "points" system that is fairly easy to figure out. You can also make it so that only the most relevent result is shown per site. That way you don't have a whole page of results from johncow.com. I've set this to "off' so that there are more results pages intentionally.

    Thanks! :)

So there is no crawler for this search? You have to put the indexed sites you self?

Thanks, you are currently the high bidder.
No, there is a crawler. You can have it run in the background with a CRON job. If you don't understand what that means I can help you once the site is on your server.
The script is called sphider. I accept your bid of $51, however, from now on please do increments of at least $10 (if we get quite a few people interested the auction could take years with increments of $1 :p).
The script has an admin backend. In that backend you can enter sites for it to crawl. You can even choose how deep to crawl. It's a very very easy to use script that has a lot of great features.

If you are a serious bidder and interested I can give you access to the backend to see for yourself. Just shoot me a PM and ask

I did some promotion with a blogger network script I am working on. It should see a nice increase in PR on next update
