Hi everybody, Two weeks ago I posted that Total Web Talk was having an article contest. There's two weeks left to submit your article and having a chance to win one of three cash prizes. 100$, 50$, 25$. The article doesn't have to be written for the contest it can be something that you've already published before, but the article has to be related to the Internet. Visit Article Contest to submit your article. Thanks and good luck
Sweet - $100 for one article? I'll be sure to conjure up something just to see how it fairs against others.
Perhaps you might mention that you gotta join the forum first.. Can't just write something on the fly from here.. Or do you accept and publish PMs?
I don't think anyone would be surprised by this ... you seemed offended by this "omission" and I don't understand why. Someone doesn't say, come into my store and register to win $100 cash without hoping to gain a few customers along the way.
I was actually surprised a tad... Had rolled up my sleeves and was ready-to-write. I just think its 'polite' to say that you have to enrol in a new forum first. Of course there may well be ooodles of benefits for some, but as a newbie to forums I personally am enjoying just keeping up (well almost) with this one (first, I've joined ever). I guess being enticed by alternative/competitive forums in whatever guise is just part of the game... Still, yes, I was surprised. It's kinda like seeing an advert in your local superstore posted by a competitive store! Anyway No offence intended....
The reason that it wasn't mentioned is that for most this is already understood. Registering is different than being a member. In this case you can register, submit your article, wait until the results are announced and never return to the forum. Being a member is actually being active in the forum and being part of the community, just like you are with this one. The registration part is also necessary to help prevent spam. We have extended the competition to people outside our community because our community is small and we hope to have a successful competition and make it fun for everyone. If you prefer not to register because you feel a sense of loyalty to this community then that's great, I applaud your sense of loyalty. Thank you for taking the time to ask questions and good luck in all your endevours.
No offense taken. I don't think chabbs is trying to lure anyone away from this or any other forum, but as he mentioned, his community is smaller and we wanted to open it up a little = more people, more competitition, more fun BTW - very well put chabbs.
*UPDATE: Due to popular demand we are now allowing articles of all genre and extending the cut off date by 7 days to March 6, 2006. ( Please note: articles containing any type pornographic material, hate material, adult material, racial material, or unlawful practice will not be admitted.)
Oh sure, after I went through the pain and agony of carpal tunnel and brain pain to write up an article about "web" you open it up ... Actually, good show chabbs - I hope the wider genre brings your contest more entries. There are some good members here at DP that could write some great satire. The contest entries will be interesting to read - what's the url of where current articles submitted can be read?
