How long ago did this happen? I haven't used them to advertise anything lately and just saw today they are posting links as nofollow.
It wasn't when I was last using it, but I would say that was probably... oh 6 months ago. Luckily I'm not too worried about SEO for this, just leads.
Large sites like craiglist and myspace usually go "nofollow" /stop passing pr only when they are abused.
Quite frankly, I made $2,400+ with Craigslist...and it was pretty easy. You must use long term strategies to suck big traffic and leads from CL. My Italian customers use it every single day to make big profits. Craigslist is very simple to use and it's a joy for massive traffic. Don't worry about "No follow" tag...
Yeah they're gone nofollow since a couple of months now. While traffic is still the same, you can't use it to be #1 on Google as before unfortunately. Oh well, they are others sites out there for that now, so who cares? And ssandecki is right, I guess there'll be less spam but not much. Only spammers who used the 'follow' tag. But it's not much spam since you really needed to use it once every 45 days, the life of your ad...
Craiglist is a great way to generate leads. You're getting a targetted audience that converts pretty well, imo. As for the nofollow attribute, I would just rely on craigslist for thier leads
I suppose that answered the Digg question then... shouldn't take long You'd wish - nothing stops spammers
I take it from reading all the posts on this that if you're just gathering leads you shouldn't be too put out about this development. It sounds like it only affects you if you're trying to increase rankings. Is this about right? donrock
Yes, it can be true. And naturally not to forget MSN... Shame if Yahoo doesn't accept Microsoft's offer - would have been interesting to see if the two can combine their strengths...
