Do you think it possible to get in the top page for the following keywords? poker bonus poker bonuses I am #1 for student poker bonus - but would obviously prefer to drop the 'student' part. thanks for any input
Yes, but you need plenty of one way links, from relevant sites, directories etc, with that anchor text.
You don't need money to do it. But those keywords are VERY competitive and it will take a lot of hard work and time to get to the top. Basically it won't happen over night.
thanks guys, you've given me a little bit of motivation! And thanks Dan, that link to your SEO thread is nice and helpful and very much appreciated.
No problem. It's currently being re-written (I originally wrote it in anger, if you can't tell) and want the second edition to be a comprehensive guide, rather than a knee-jerk reaction.
u will need a lot of backlinks, if u want to improve ur ranking for these 2 keywords poker bonus poker bonuses
1. You need many backlinks as angilina said 2. You must make all your links work But i suggest you to check if your desired keywods will bring you traffic. I checked the "poker bonus" and seems it will not bring traffic to you. Did you check it?
I would say that you do have a decent chance to rank higher for those keywords. They are not highly competitive. According to WordTracker, poker bonus receives 31 searches daily, and poker bonuses receives 11 daily searches. So yes, you can do some good SEO and probably climb higher. I would recommend: • Get some good directory links to your website with those keywords as the anchor text of those links. • Here's a good SEO strategy that many people overlook. On the footer links from your inner pages to your home page, don't waste the link by using "Home" as the anchor text. Rather, use "Poker Bonus HOME" or "Poker Bonuses HOME" as the anchor text. • Be sure that those keywords are sprinkled throughout the page(s) you are optimizing for those terms. Get them in the titles and in the copy. But don't overdo it, lest the copy seem "spammy".
Personally, and this is straight from a usability perspective, I avoid sites that have keywords like that stuffed into the menu's anchor text like the plague. I don't mind it so much in the title attribute, as long as it's done tastefully and actually adds to the value of the link, but if it's done purely for SEO purposes, I'm leaving. Remember, getting people who are looking for something via the search engines to "click that link" to your site is only the first battle in the war.
