I've never thought about SEO for mobile-media - i'm assuming it is the same, as the search engines would still keep their same ranking algorithms I would think.

I've heard some say the the mobile web will be much bigger than the web today as we know it. Ever seen a 10-year-old texting a friend at light speed? Makes me think.

It only makes sense that there will always be a need to search for information and there will be a corresponding way to optimize content to appear at the top of those searches.

Not only is the idea of optimizing content for mobile search relevant, but I would suggest that you're behind the curve if you're not actively thinking about how to embrace it.

i feel search is not the only priority, user navigation & experience should be the main goal be it on mobile or large screen. i guess it should have been user experience optimization instead of seo as goolge themselves have recommended to design sites independent of search engine.......shud be more user centric

"google Quality guidelines - basic principles

    * Make pages for users, not for search engines. Don't deceive your users or present different content to search engines than you display to users, which is commonly referred to as "cloaking."
    * Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you'd feel comfortable explaining what you've done to a website that competes with you. Another useful test is to ask, "Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn't exist?" "

i think seo for mobile would all together take a different dimension in terms of design, content and site navigation. hmm...web is becoming ever complex space to be.

edit: on a second thought s search is important but only upto the point of being listed at the top
