    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

I put up a new site this week - AdSense results

I would like really to say congratulations. I am wondering, is there any problem with Adsense to have TTZ Media and Vibrant Media Ads running at the same time in the same page?

Wally - By news editor, I mean a person that actually posts the news for me.

mohdsoft - It really depends on how much power you can swing with Google. The canned answer is you can not run other contextual ads with Google. However, the rule is not written in stone. You will have to email Google as they deal with it on a case by case basis. Given a choice between allowing a 30 million page view per month network to run Adsense and Vibrant, or have that network go to YPN, well.... Google's not dumb.

Sending out requests to 200+ news sources may simply get you banned from yor ISP for spamming. This method of generating traffic risky and I dont recommend it. Odds are all of your requests will be rejected.

IamNed - I completely agree with you. This doesn't work at all. I don't recommend anyone do it. Laptop Gamers traffic didn't came becuase of high PR sites linking to it. Yes it was some Moto voodoo magic. You have found me out.

On a more serious note. I know every one of those 200+ sites and they know me. We are on each others news list. When they have news, they send it to their list, which includes me. I post their news on my sites. When I have news, I send it to them and they post it.

How well does this work? Well Laptop Gamers hit 8,500 page views last Monday because sites on the news list posted about it. I have a feeling today is going to be a 10,000 day.

This 200+ sites network you are talking about, is this some kind of newsgroup!! And is it possible to join that network ? Or is there any set criteria for joing like:

    1. You should have 100+ websites.
    2. You should know everyone personally.
    3. Your websites should be high traffic.

    Please throw some light !!!

sumitbahl - No it's not a news group and it's not a network. It's kinda of an old boys club created a lot time ago. They are felllow technology sites I know or have met over the years at all the different trade shows I attend.

You don't have to be "part of the club" for them to accept your news. They accept news from anyone. However, that doesn't mean they post everything they get. Don't expect any non tech news to get posted.

The follow blog posts should help you out:

    Okay, thanx for the tip.

One more thing i was installing Joomla on one of my website, i did everything right, everything was installed and it gave my admin username password, but when i open the website it by default lands me on the installation page. Any idea why is that happening ???

While installing on the first screen it said
    configuration.php Unwriteable
You can still continue the install as the configuration will be displayed at the end, just copy & paste this and upload.

I did not find any configuration.php so I changed the rights on configuration.php-dist to 777, but it still says it unwriteable. Although, i manually changed all the variable in config file.

Does this has to do with why installation is not completed.

Is anyone here using advanced SEF for joomla ? Mine SEF which is included in the package is not working, so i downloaded Extended SEF from Joomlas Developer website, but that is also giving out errors.

Can anoyone tell me which is the best Advanced SEF module for joomla ?

pixads - The Google ad is a module. The one that adds the 160 is from Joomlaspan. The one that adds the 336 is a mambot from MamboSphere.

sumitbahl - I use Open SEF

Sure - it messed up on me once. It wouldn't go to page 2 of an article. All the page links would link to page 1. I had to manually edit the SEF URL to fix it.

Moto: I downloaded the OpenSEF module and uploaded it into the component directory. I was trying to install it from the admin backend, but the opensef package i downloaded does'nt come with installer.

How do i install it ? I have the standard SEF module working on the website.

PS. I am not a hardcore programmer.

In Joomla, go to "Installer" then chose "Component", hit the browse and find the Open SEF zip file in your comp. Hit "Upload files & Install". Joomla upload, unzip and install it for you.

Got it installed and is working perfectly.

    Thanx again.

    Gerting back on topic...

Simply amazing results Moto...I run a large 100,000 member forum and you are creeping up on my numbers :O

From my forum site the 'network' moto speaks of is familiar, and is the same way I generated big traffic on my board. All of the hardware review sites, gamers, tech reviews...These guys are all hungry for content.

Good looking sites like moto's get noticed by these guys.

Good show and keep up the updates.
