I was below complete newb two years ago. My first website was a page that said "Out of a million sperm, I was the fastest! Wahoo!" and I had like 500 animated gifs of little sperm floating around :D

I started off with yahoo geocities. Then I went to proboards which helped me pick up my html skills alot, from adding affiliate codes and all the rest helped me learn the basics. Then finally I got editplus, which I still use to this day for html, php, css, perl, javascript & php.

I didn't even know how to open Frontpage... first site looks like crap.

Now I just hire a designer to build my sites... much easier and they look better than what I could do.

My first website (it was a single page actually) was 2 or 3 months after I first got the internet.
I opened an account at geocities and made up a page just for fun. So i used their editor to write some info about me: name, adress, etc...

I guess nobody visited that page, except me (for looking and looking at it again and again).
