Wordpress.Username won't take, first time using it, suggestions?

    Just uploaded a WP theme with fantastico to my homepage. Went to my domain name and tried to log into wordpress to start posting with the exact info I was sent in the installation e-mail. It won't take, wp says incorrect username, no idea what could be the problem. Any suggestions?

    Hmmmm, well that would be an epic noob fail. Haha, I just tried admin as the username with the pw sent in the installation e-mail and it didn't work.

    So what is the username for that I set in the installation? Well if you have any other ideas I'd appreciate it. Thanks for the response.

    Go to phpmyadmin and find your admin username there.

    I went into phpadmin, and I am not quite sure what I am looking for. Every time I have installed a wp theme I just used the username and pw that were sent to me in the installation email. Not sure why it doesn't work now.

    Look at the wp_users table in your Wordpress database. One of the fields is user_login, this is what you're looking for.

    Thanks for the help Moncal, I just deleted the old installation and installed a new one. It worked fine, no idea what was wrong with the first one.
