I figured I would post my site up for review and see if anyone has any tips they might have to share.

    Cisco Forum and News

It is still a work in progress...but aren't most site's always a work in progress? ;)

I am displaying some google ads and have a invite to YPN that I am considering using. Hopefully the ad's will cover the cost of hosting the site and maybe a purchase of a vbulletin license. I'm realistic and I expect only a couple of dollars a month for displaying them. I have played around with the ad positions a little.

Any suggestions on things that I can improve? Navigation, color's etc. I am holding off on a full forum cosmetic overhaul until I decide if I am going to use vbulletin or not.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

it's a very professional looking site. The forum badly needs a mod rewrite to make the url's more spider-friendly, but I guess if you haven't yet decided whether or not to stick with vbulletin, then there's not much point at this time.

On thing I noticed. You seem to have identical titles on every page. You also have the dreaded google:
In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 5 already displayed.

I've seen that the two are often related. I don't know if your site generates titles and description meta tags automatically, but it would be much better if they were unique and relevant for each page, and would be worth the effort in my view.

    Cheers,
    Paz.

Looks great. I don't see anything wrong with advertising as long as there is good content justifying it. The bottom right hand site could have some more ads (why not).

You website is very good but there is an area wasted on the space for the three pictures. Maybe you should put them in a row because you should put more of your content "Before the fold"
