    I was pretty surprised to find this out, thanks to the great waybackmachine archives...


    google used to be called "backrub" :eek:

    Seriously! Can you imagine that name ever succeeding, can you picture conversation when someone suggested that they rename it "google"?

    Ahhhh, the good old days when we used DEC's altavista and nobody had heard of Google... I yearn for them!
