    I prefer to use meta tags even google won't consider the meta tags since other search engines still use meta tags for description. I think using meta tags won't do any harm to google search rangking anyway..

    Meta tags are important because:
    a) small search engines still use them as important factor in ranking
    b) usually in sepr results meta description is shown. So it should be eye catchy ;)

    Try getting links for your website also. That's the best and safest way to get your website indexed on Google. Submitting to Search Engines is not at all necessary.

    Meta Tags should be used, although not so important for Google, but they are for Yahoo and other search engines.

    There were times during recent past when people almost stopped using Meta Tags - because links and anchor words were prime factors for ranking on Google.

    But with Google going hell-bent on paid links and all links looking suspect - Meta Tags and Title Tags have again become and important aspect for ranking. Just Google around and analyze the results carefully - it seems primary factor now is keywords on Title and domain.

    I saw that Google is indexing my meta tags while listing it in Search Results.

    they are useful lot many of SE and they show relevance of site and explain about the site. meta tags such as robot will help u more. so i prefer we should use them for give more imp to ON PAGE ;)

    I know that now Meta Tag is now not too much important for Google, but still now many search engines gave importance to Meta Tag. My opinion is Meta Tag is good for a website because Meta Tag is describe our website's every page.
