In the last two weeks i went through 8 aaa batteries. all for the privilege of not having the wire. I now officially hate wireless mice.

Interesting. It's so obvious, however, I failed to consider those things need power.

    They sound power hungry!

What model do you have and how many hours a day do you sleep?

I learned quickly, especially after gaming for nearly 5 years on the computer, that Wireless mouses are pretty bad. Costly and just not worth it. I'll stick to my 2-button optical logitech mouse, I have around 8 of them :)

Just get one with rechargeble batteries.. I have mine over 2 years, still with the original batteries. You just have to put the mouse in the docking station at night.
(it did get flat once though, after 20 hours of constant gaming ;) )

Well i have to agree on them being poor for gaming because its when you are about to make the shot of your life.Or you are flying in a jet about to bomb someone and they just die on you i have had 2 cordless ones and both sucked even though they had rechargables and was charged often so i went back to my 3 button microsoft optical mouse. No more anoying deaths gaming :D.

get a logitech wireless laser mouse with the rechargeable base. Those are awesome. Likr $80 or something, but well worth it.

I'm not too fond of my Apple wireless mouse that I use with my iMac.

Shortly after its battery-charge status bar shows yellow, it will conk out. That freezes up the cursor and requires a turn-off-the-power-switch shutdown, then a reboot after replacing the batteries.

I much prefer the wired mouse I use on my office PC. However, to be fair, I do really like my Apple wireless keyboard. Unlike the wireless mouse, it seems to run forever on one set of batteries.
