Somebody explain page impressions in adsense please?

    In the reports panel of adsense. Are the page impressions actual site impressions?

    I just started a new site earlier this afternoon. 3-4 hours ago it said 600 impressions. now it's over 3,000:eek:

    Explain please?

    Did you submit it to Yahoo? I'm not 100% sure on this, but Slurp's been known to go a bit nuts like that from time to time.

    From Google:

    "Page reports will show an impression every time a user views a page displaying Google ads. We'll only report one page impression no matter how many Google ads are displayed on a page. For example, if a page with one half banner and one vertical banner is viewed once, we'll display one page impression."

    In "Advanced Reports" you can change it so that "impressions" counts ad units or individual ads, rather than pages.

    page impressions are just like page views which you see in your analytics accout or awstats

    I don't think it's exactly like page views.

    My Adsense stats and Analytics stats never really match up.

    I agree, My Google analytics account is always showing much more page views than Google adsense page impressions.

    because probably not all visitor, can see the adsense. this happend when they use adblock, or some cache problem
