    Hi guys,

I saw the article "How to Build a Successful Forum"

Maybe it can help some people here who have community forum
but the earnings are too low because its not a very good/active forum :)

What do you think about the article?

    Enjoy the article,

As someone who has built several successful forums (one of which is linked in my sig), I must say hats off to you for this article... it's right on the money (no pun intended...).
Forums are a labour of love and if done only for money they will often fail.

i'd go as far as to say that almost every work must come with passion and that money is only the bonus at the end of it all. :)

The article is for people who own a forum with adsense and not forum just to put adsense in it.
If you want to earn money don't build a forum, build a website.

Hey, thanks for noticing my article. Only two people read my blog, including me, so you must be the other one. :p

Since I wrote that, I've gotten some fedback, and the numbers are probably off when it comes to potential earnings. I have several forums, and I used those numbers as a base, but I don't maximize monetization either. So just discard the part about potential earnings, and do exit pop unders if you like. :)

    Nice article,

And dead on, a forum can not be active without prompt replies and a certain level of "expertise" on the subject the forum is started on.

It is quite amazing that once you build a forum up the level of expertise also rise within the forum.

And before you know it there is always someone just ready to help in your forums. That is when you know you have a good thing going on.

Kind of depressing actually. I thought I could just build it and it would grow on its own ;)

Well written, lots of good points. It has a definate down to earth factual tone.

I have a few slightly different opinions, but nothing worth debating over, it's a great article. :)

lol kinda like planting a seed, wish life was that easy :D damn trees.

I have a hard time with the fresh blood, people just dont stick around and i dont know why! I suppose its because most people already go to a forum and feel too lazy or without time to go to yet another one that they dont get time to check out all the special features i always offer :(

I couldn't agree more. Passion is a big key. Enjoying what you do comes out of that, and we all know nobody likes to do something they hate, almost all of us have had to do that at one time or another to make our money. When you're doing something you love, and it starts returning the love with money... well you have a win win situation!
