Fedex Sucks! Don't use them!

Yet again, I was screwed over by Fedex. I will now no longer allow returns via Fedex.

The first incident cost me over $80 to ship a $49 item back to me because the customer didn't check a box, so Fedex shipped at the fastest/most expensive rate.

This time their stupid driver left a package buried in the snow, instead of putting it under the overhang by the front door. The package contents were wrecked by water working its way in. That cost me $125+.

    I HATE Fedex!

    Any incidents of your own?

Nothing really, just 1day late shipping (which occurred yesterday) but that's about it.

Wow, I would file a dispute or something (well, I don't know) for all that lost money. They shouldn't be leaving packages where they will get ruined.

Thanks for letting me know, I sure in hell won't trust FedEx. :p

I did. They sent me a letter that the original shipper needs to file the claim, even though I explained everything to a Customer Service Rep. I think they're just trying to make it as inconvenient as possible.

Sad to hear your story. Have you considered reporting the incident to the Fair Trade?

Gee, I didn't know FedEX could be so bad. I've had some bad experiences using UPS. Now I'll have to re-think FedEx. :(

FedEx and DHL have been great to me. Purchasing insurance on anything of value is a must with any shipping company.

ugh believe me UPS is even worse. They charged me an extra 200 usd just to accept the package, or they would return it to the shipper.

Maybe I'll jinx myself, but so far I've had no problems with UPS in terms of costing me money. I had an expensive item destroyed, but it worked out fine.

    Fedex though....nothing good.

and all disputes have been resolved quickly. I think if you have business account with FedEx you have more chances to get refunded since they know that you are likely to ship very frequently and bring them more money. I was completely refunded by FedEx even in situations when my packages were not insured for more than $100 (and they returned me more than $200). But my products were not fragile and I've heard from many people that FedEx is not good at delivering fragile products (glasses, vases etc). A friend of mine was shipping a very expensive sculpture and they delivered it completely broken, through it was packed by them

You know what? FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS, etc., they all stink at one time or another. Send out enough packages with any of them and you will have a wealth of horror stories. How about this one: One day last August we shipped about 25 packages to our customers through USPS on a weekday. They lost ALL of them. We basically re-shipped our products (ethernet and USB cables) to each customer after ten days of no delivery at great cost and loss to us. About a month after that, the USPS ended up delivering some of the original packages, but not all. We complained and they said that they would investigate, etc. Of course, we did not hold our breath waiting for an answer and did not ever get one. I also have a story about Fedex and a Canadian shipment that would make your hair stand on end... :)

I'm not very sympathetic in this situation as it is not FedEx who is responsible. As for the other its just a crappy driver. I have a sticker on my front door which has a number which they use to view three different preferred drop points for packages, you can also specify that if there is no answer they take the package with them and attempt delivery at a later time. I would call your local FedEx company and complain.

As for FedEx service I have never had a problem with them. My packages are left where I specified in the drop orders, are never damaged and hardly even smudged. Both UPS and Airborne (haven't used DHL since they came out) have completely destroyed my packages before. For some reason the information on the UPS label isn't followed. I have a neighbor in a house behind mine which can be clearly seen from the street who is always ordering books and has them shipped UPS. The UPS driver leaves packages on my porch with the wrong name and address even though there is a sign on the outer door stating the name and delivery instructions. He delivered packages to my door once and literally ran to his truck and drove away without so much as knocking. Two weeks later he did the same thing but had to cross the street to deliver another package. I followed him and told him he has been delivering the packages to the wrong place that he needs to deliver them to the house behind us. He took the package and put it at my patio door having been able to clearly see the house behind me as it is only a hundred feet away. A few years ago I ordered a laptop and Dell shipped UPS insured. The problems were that I was at school, my mom couldn't sign for the package because it had to be me, and I couldn't sign for the package because UPS insurance policy states that the person signing has to be over 21 and I was only 19. When I finally got the package after arguing with the manager for over an hour the box looked like it had been crushed on one side with 3/4 of of that side having been ripped off, there were 3 footprints on it and the bottom was almost black with dirt. I refused delivery and had to wait another 2 weeks for another computer. Since then I haven't used UPS and wont even do business with a company that doesn't offer an alternative form of shipping.

    Thats my horror story.

You most certainly have the right to make a claim with that driver and FedEx. Do everything possible and nag them, call the fedex location where it was put onto the truck. thats unbelieveable.
I've used fedex before with 2 day air. seems to be very secure that way and put into "Priority". ANYTHING with GROUND is trampled and chucked into the back of a truck. I dont like UPS becasue they dont update tracking

Well, I just got a container tube back from the USPS and it was almost broken in half. Ugh!

I'd still rather use USPS, UPS or DHL over Fedex any day.
