Well he should be happy to play matches and pay 50% of match fees. I wonder why Symonds not charged for same charge.

Just to put things into perspective:

The entire furor happened because Harbhajan said he didn't call Symonds a monkey. Even with the audio evidence, they let him off with a lesser charge simply becuase the Indian Cricket Board had summoned the ODI team from Melbourne to Adelaide and chartered a plane to India for the team should Harbhajan have been found guilty, no matter what the evidence.

The rules of cricket simply don't apply when the BCCI starts throwing their weight around.

Though I agree that BCCI is abusing it's power, I still feel the judgment was fair as there was not enough evidence of Harbhajan calling Symonds a monkey. I think Harbhajan most probably used "teri maa ki" like most of Indians use when abusing some one (which I believe is way abusive than monkey thing!), which might have sounded like monkey to these english speaking people. Symonds was unable to conclude whether he heard monkey or something else in the hearing process. Yes, BCCI should stop threatening the CA or ICC. It's a dangerous thing for Indian cricket. But the result is fair and I feel even Symonds should be punished for starting all this nonsense.

The "punish Symonds" thing is just another political football invented by the BCCI to bully their way around the ICC, CA and the outcome of the hearing.

    It is a red herring.

It looks like the 'monkey' word wouldn't sell again as Judge Hansen has proclaimed that use of the word 'monkey' or 'big monkey' wouldn't amount to the offence Mr.Singh was charged with.

I never believed Bhajii could call Symonds a monkey. Not that he is a saint or something, but he simply can't be so abusive......

    ....to monkeys.

He should be nice to Symonds. When the Australians were picking on Singh, saying that he wasn't fit to sleep with pigs, Symonds stuck up for Singh.

    He said he was.

You're correct. Not only Bhajji but everyone should respect Symonds for his experience....

A group of Australian cricket fans threw an egg on the Sri Lankan spin wizard's face in Hobart. The Sri Lankan cricketers, including Muralitharan, were also jeered and attacked by some local residents in Hobart when they were returning to their hotel after dinner last night. The Sri Lanka team management had then taken action to safely guide the players back to their hotel and the police arrived at the scene.

    Yep, exactly! harbhajan said,
, which sounds like "big monkey!"
and the meaning of this word in english, means "your mom's......" and ICC don't have any strong rules against speaking these words!

lol :D does this means that ICC cant punish for "teri maa...".Btw i feel symond and gilchrist are the only legitimate guys in their team.
But what about the 20-20 guys?Team india collapsed like a deck of cards.Poor pathan was the only hero!! Dhoni's statement was that we are going for a practice match only" lol ,anybody saw? What they are doing in today's match."hey mister Segwag.. You are not supposed to be out there to cause thunders in just 1 match out of a dozen that you play !!" why is he in the team?

It is strange why the Australians find it more offensive when someone calls your race as monkeys' and more acceptable when soomeone says your mom slept with many men.

I guess the best way to explain it is that any insult is ok in Australia. But even the slightest hint of racism is considered extremely uncool. I don't think Australia is alone in that. Try a racist comment in South Africa, UK or even the USA when you are playing sports and you will get a suspension in most pro leagues.
