When my site is displayed in google.. the title says "Powered by vBulletin" in the end. Can anybody advise how to remove that?

You would need to pay vBulletin for copyright removal, it's on their website: vBulletin.com.

After you buy it, select the $120 'branding free' option and it will remove it.

I believe those are together, that when you remove it in the footer, it's also removed in the header -- but I could be wrong. If you think otherwise, you could try asking on the vbulletin.com forums under their support help. They have quick response times :)

Edit the title in each template. For instance forumhome, showthread, forumdisplay etc.

Languages & Phrases -> Search in Phrases

    Change this phrase:

    x_powered_by_vbulletin

    From this:

    {1} - powered by vBulletin

    To this:

    {1}

Wouldn't that be against vBulletin's TOS?

Yes, it is in direct violation if you remove in anywhere without paying for it. You should re-read the TOS before attempting to do this. (I confirmed this with a vBulletin employee)

The question was about titles. It's ok to remove the title stuff.

    change

     <title><phrase 1="$vboptions[bbtitle]">$vbphrase[x_powered_by_vbulletin]</phrase></title>

    HTML:
    to

     <title>My Title - $vboptions[bbtitle]</title>

    HTML:
Or something, In the appropreate temples. You can use some variables to.

I hope so, I removed it on all my boards leaving only the copyright on the bottom.... I beleive that should be enough branding for them...

Just to let everybody know, this is perfectly legal

The thing you cannot remove is the copyright in the footer (unless you pay for removal) - you CAN remove the "Powered By" phrase in the page title for no extra fee.

kneukm03 posted the proper method for doing this...

Not exactly. You can remove the credits completely from the title and to do so it's not necessary to edit the phrase.

Editing the phrase is usually done to remove the link IIRC.

As far as the forums, they are about building, managing, promoting your forums, etc. You can find more info on the automated post exchange here ...Basically, assuming you already know how post exchanges work...It is a place for you to find a huge list of forums that are exchanging posts and pick and choose which you want to exchange with. Everything works on a points system...the more posts you make, the more points you earn. The more posts you receive, the more posts you lose. The idea is to let the people who make the most posts to then receive the most posts.

Right, but it is easier to go to the Phrase Manager and delete the text in that phrase itself...that way you can always go back later and put other text back in there with ease if you want ;)

Two php files. One of them requires a single edit, but other than that, all you do is download them and upload them to your forums. You won't need to make any edits to your current files or your database and these two files wont change anything either.
