"Advertise on this site" gone nuts?

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by Ajeet, Feb 11, 2006.

I wonder if I am the last person to find this out:

Ages ago I had applied for AdSense from my domainnumber1.com and was accepted. Eventually, I placed my AdSense code on many of my new sites. At the bottom of the AdSense unit, is the link "Advertise on this site."

I assumed that if a user were to click on this link on my domainnumber2.com, it would assist her/him to advertise on domainnumber2.com. But, I find that regardless of which domain I check, the "Advertise on this site" link takes me to an adwords.google.com page which says "Advertise on domainnumber1.com" For someone who wants to advertise on any of my other domains, this is pretty irrelevant.

    Is it just me?

I turned it off, however you can change the name displayed.
I changed it to "this site"

So the message then read Advertise on this site.

You are right. RTFM is always valid advice :) Here is what I found at: https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=29008

Can I customise the landing page for each of my sites?

No. At this time, we only offer the ability to customise one landing page for each account. Advertisers will access the same custom landing page from ad units on any of your sites.

iowadawg, I think you have misunderstood the question. I am referring to the page one ends up on if one clicks the "Advertise on this site" link below the ad unit.

Or have I misunderstood what you are saying? :)

Good thing I read this thread a bit closer.
I never until a moment ago clicked on the "advertise on this site"
So I did and went to google, where they are showing a site that I have not had in over 6 months!
So have to go to google and fix that like now!

Thanks so much for this one!

No. At this time, we only offer the ability to customize one landing page for each account. Advertisers will access the same custom landing page from ad units on any of your sites.

So pick your one site to advertise on very carefully!
That means if someone goes to one of your sites and clicks on the advertise on this site button, they may be put off to find out that google shows another site!
I hit the button because I want to advertise on abc.com and go to a page that says advertise on fox.com.
NOt good...wonder if google will ever change this part?

It can take a few hours for the "advertise on this site" to disappear, but it will.
