uh oh...i predict big riots (Muhammed cartoons)

Resorting to violence over a cartoon because of religion is in my oppinion a show of lack of strenght and commitment to the religion of islam and it shows how insecure a lot of Muslim people are.

In my oppinion a true Muslim would not let her/himself be manipulated into violence by non-believers if there is no justification for violence as in protecting your country or family or your own body from harm.

Good point. That's why i'm saying that muslims are not like that, only some poor uneducated extremists do these protests. But since people are so blinded because there is a lot of bad muslims in Iran and Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, so people think all muslims are bad. IT's just not true.

If any good does come out of this experience, it is the sudden and almost audible <click> in the minds of a certain group of mentally slow Westerners as they suddenly realize "Hey, those people don't share our same values."

I never stop being amazed by people who are so "stuck" in Western culture that they honestly believe that Osama bin Laden is just misunderstood and that George W. Bush is the worst person living today.

Those people need a reality check, and this event turned out to be a reality check for a small minority of them.

The Muslims just cost the Democrats more votes in the next round of U.S. elections. I wonder if the Democrats can sue them?

 

Of course to most people those riots re-enforce the idea that we should stay away from those people as much as possible.

Do you look at those riots and think we need to invade more of those backwards countries? That that will somehow fix them?

like "Look those people are backwards shit heads, lets go hangout with them, lets get MORE involved with them!"

It's not nice to stereotyping. I know that we got freedom of speech and that's why we need to have norms. This is breaking the norm.

 

Actually i think it's hilarious.

 

There's a word for what happens when people break the norms.

The word is progress.

 

You know people do have the freedom to write what they want, including these pictures.

At the same time, the muslim's have the right to express themselves in protest. But how the muslim's actually express themselves is a reason for concern. There have been many occasions of christian's protesting, such as piss on jesus, the dung statue of mary, etc. Yes there were protests and maybe some isolated violent acts associated with it.

Yes I think the muslim's should protest at the insensativity of these cartoons, but when they resort to violence on a grand scale and go on a rampage by burning other peoples property and atacking foreigners that result in harm and death they are only helping to prove the fact that there is some truth in these cartoons.

The cleric's of islam recently announced that they will not accept any appolgies from the west for these cartoon's and that everyone should be brought to justice for them, and continue to encourage people to protest over them, while at the same time they are promoting islam to be a religion of peace. In all reality the cleric's and imams of islam should be telling everyone that partakes in terror in the name of mohammed that they are not setting a good example for islam.
