Can you place 2 Google Ads next to each other?

Instead of having a leaderboard, I've placed one 468x60 next to a 234x60 to make it look a bit like a leaderboard but thinner.

Is this allowed?

I clicked my own ad today and I emailed Google and told them I clicked my own ad because I found it interesting and asked if it was OK if I did this infuture. But then I herd you are not allowed to do this, could I now get in trouble?

 

That was not a smart move of you clicking the ad. Even worst is asking if its okay since you agreed to terms and conditions when you signed up. You could get your account banned its an option but only google will decide.

 

Oh dear, hopefully by emailing them about it they will refrain from banning me account.

But I don't see the problem in clicking your own ads now and again when there is genuine interest in what it is offering.

yeah i think that too, but how can google test if you're not clicking for the money? that's impossible so i think it's right as it is now..

I've clicked about 3 or 4 times on my ads out of curiosity, but there are days, if not weeks between clicks. No problems so far and I hope there never will be.

If you're doing it daily, the chances of getting caught increase... It's not worth it.

I don't see why Google would ban you for one or two clicks, people would get upset, comment on blogs, lower their reputation of "company for the people"...

 

You can put adsense ads next to each other, or one below the other.
A lot of good marketers do this.

Not a good idea to ever click on your own ads.
Easy to just get the url and copy/paste into your browser.
That way you go to the site without going through google for them to see the click.

 

well i'll say it again it is allowed, but this counts as 2 ads not one, so you've got only 2 spots for your ads left (maximum number of ads on one page is four... you already have used two of them for the 'leaderboard')

 

well you can add two or more adsense on one page... I found out the maximum you can place it is 4 adsense.

FYI, My friend got banned last time regarding this click his own ads.. That why i suggest you to not click it whatsoever... hehehe

 

everyone gets banned if they click their own ads. about asking google if it's ok if you click your own ads...i don't know...you probably shot yourself in the foot there.

 

Does it work (in relation to clicks) having two ads next to eachother?

I have done so on www.offshoremerchantaccountcentral.com (long URL ), but it haven't been online long enough for me to conclude anything.

No! And don't do it again unless you would like your Adsense account to be closed. If you are genuinely interested in the ad, you can always point the mouse to the ad (WITHOUT CLICKING ON IT) and you will see the URL at the bottom of the screen. Most ads have the URL displayed in any case, so just visit the URL WITHOUT CLICKING THE AD. And if you ever accidentally end up clicking up on one of your own ads (try not to), email Google immediately explaining when, why and on which web page this happened.

 

I was told it's ok to click your own adds, because google know that webmasters will be intrested in the adverts too, especially as there on topic to your website, ive never actually clicked a add, but surely they should implent some code so it doesn't count as a click, if you do decide to click them.

Please, just don't do it. Those few cents really aren't worth the trouble! Make sure you _never_ click on your own ads, even if you like them.
