MacsNPods is a resource for Mac and iPod users to read reviews, articles, how-to's and more on Apple products.

We have 4 writers who write for the site for free, so basically your only job is posting the reviews (using the CMS), and acquiring some advertisers.

Revenue

We displayed Google adds for one month and made $22.00 from it, we dont display Google adds anymore right now, but you can take over the account and the $22 credit.

We started displaying AdBrite add's yesterday, and have made $0.25 so far.

We also displayed adds in the past from sitepoint advertisers bringing in $150.

Major companies worldwide are constantly sending us free trial products and software to try out, I have added the value of everything received for free so far and it adds up to over $600.

These companies generally contact us, and a few companies are also interested in advertising with us.

yes there was a forum with 12,000 posts. I recently removed it. You still have the IPB license included with the purchase

 

One thing I forgot to add is the wide media coverage we have received.

We were featured on the front page of the business section of New Zealand's largest newspaper 4 months ago (1.5 million readers), and that story was run in 4 other smaller papers (500,000 readers).

I removed the forum because I didn't really think it was worth keeping on the site. I don't have the database but I do have people willing to help and spread the word, post, ect if it went back up in the future.

Oops. I have made a huge mistake, I am very embarrassed.
