If we'd only give them more power, then we would be safe

Yes, there does seem to be the, "I'm black Obama," phenomeon that his surrogates bring up. Then you have the "woman" Hillary. Either way the democrats have an opportunity to have a first in US presidents. A "black man" or "woman" neither of whom is noticeably different from your typical neocon.

Sure he could vote no like Paul would. However, that accomplishes absolutely nothing in the long run when everyone else OKs the bill. At least it was revised and isn't _as_ bad as it was.

So standing by your principles accomplishes nothing.

    Got it.

So back to, what is it about Obama that makes him a change candidate? That he votes for something, and then whines about it later?

What is the attraction to this guy? Surely someone can point out a piece of his legislation, a plank in his platform, something, anything that says, "He's more than the guy who talks about change."

What does Obama stand for? What will he not compromise on?

Btw, I'm not trying to convert anyone here. I'm just tired of people making Obama out to be something he totally is not. He's Bill Clinton, but as a black male. I suppose that could be called change, depending how loose your definition is. In my mind, I see no change, and no one has posted anything to change my mind. I just see a different packaging on the same old Democrat message.

    Obama is the change candidate.

    Obama's father is Kenyan.

Obama is related to Bush and Cheney.

Obama is a politician just like the rest of them. He will say anything to get ellected. It just happens that people are fed up with the current situation and wants change, so he promises change. If what the people wanted was peanuts you can bet that's what he would be the "beast peanuts candidate"

Obama is a very impressive speaker. His speech last night was remarkable. Leadership is the ability to rally people to come together for a common goal. Some candidates have this ability, others fail miserably.

It is interesting that many of the RP supporters here indicated they would vote for Obama when RP doesn't receive the Republican nomination. Clearly there is some diversity there.

26 posts, and still no one can explain what is different about Obama, and why he is the "change" candidate.

I see a lot of explanations and comments.

That you would claim not to, doesn't surprise me

I'll wait for tomorrow's crowd to pick up here.

For now, we have "he inspires people" and he could be a "peanut candidate".

Oh well. For $5, I will inspire myself to buy peanuts.

What really annoys me about you GTech (amongst many other things) is that you disrespect someone because he is not as articulate or as smooth as other candidates.

I'll be the first to admit that RP doesn't speak as smoothly as say, Obama, or the used car salesman/Timeshare seller Mitt Romney. But that's the problem in the USA, people will vote for a person based on how he looks/talks rather than what he will actually do for them.

No wonder your country heading down the pan fast.

LOL, I was thinking of adding something to that effect when I was posting my previous post.

Bush was a very rare exception. The fact that the terrorist scumbag can even string a coherent sentence together is a miracle, even more of a miracle than how he managed to win 2 terms in power.
