    What are your requirements?

    Wordpress [self hosted] is great if you want full control over you blog and have future plans for expansion (e.g. into a site/forum too) however you do have the added cost (and worry!) of finding a reliable web host.

    Blogger is great that all your hosting is taken care of but you have less theme options available and fewer plugins too. But the plus is that your hosting is taken care of.

    I'm planning to do a feature about this with in-depth comparisons in the forum (link in sig) so check back there if you're interested.
    Hope this helps!

    Wordpress all the way! Check out my blog and ask yourself if you can ever do that with Blogger. I don't think so either. Wordpress just has so many features that Blogger doesn't have.

    Pros of Blogger

    It's free, and easy

    Pros of Wordpress

    You have more control

    In the end you could always start off with blogger, and then when you feel like upgrading, wordpress makes it amazingly simple to transfer all of your blogger posts to your wordpress blog.

    Definitely Wordpress as goozuza mentioned.

    You can easily optimize wordpress for SEO and there's a lots of free plugin to do that. If you want to create anime blog, I recommend to buy ready to upload anime database available in the buy and sell sections. There are sellers selling these database with a reasonable price, just do the search to find their thread.

    It will help you to build your anime site fast and easy.

    All i can say that all the anime blogs out there are built on wordpress (atleast the dozen I own)

    You can play with the plugins and get hundreds of premade themes to suit your site well

    It's Wordpress without a doubt! Wordpress has some serious features that Blogger doesn't have nor will have any time soon. The folks at BLOGGER may arbitrarily terminate your blog account (read the fine print). Running Wordpress from your host account is in your control. Once you understand Wordpress themes and plugins you'll really grow to appreciate Wordpress and all the wonderful people behind the scenes working tirelessly at making Wordpress the star platform that it is.

    If by wordpress you mean wordpress.com, please note that, contrary to Blogger, ads aren't allowed there.
    Actually, the only cons of Wordpress (self hosted) when comparing it to Blogger are probably the fact that you need to pay for the hosting& domain, as well as take care of the upgrades.. Everything else is in favor ;)

    Right now I am using blogger as I just started off. Once traffic picks up I will switch to GoDaddy/WordPress. Will it be an easy transition to move all the posts or will that be a pain?

    I'd use self hosted Wordpress, you have more control.
    Pros Of Blogger:
    -> Free, Always online
    -> Easy to use
    -> Support from Blogger Team

    Cons of Blogger:
    -> Limitations (TOS)
    -> Limited Editability, Wordpress gives you 100s of thousands of plugins to play with

    Pros of Wordpress (Self Hosted)
    -> Total Control
    -> No Restrictions (like TOS, apart from the hosting company)
    -> Looks more professional
    -> Provided you get a good host, very reliable and fast.

    Cons of Wordress (Self Hosted)
    -> Costs Money
    -> You have to do the backing up, and make sure it's online
    -> Little or No Technical support for the Wordpress itself.
