I have played with it so much at work, and I think its a nice device but not worth the price The touch screen is very fun to play with but after awhile you will suffer from how small the hard drive is whether it is the 8gb or the 16 gb
Yes, it is worth the money for sure. I love mine. I actually installed the installer hack and I have added so much more to it.
I am waiting till feb when apple plan to release SDK (third part apps) if they arent good then i will just jailbreak it
I love mine, I have nothing to complain about. I have one for my car and one for carrying around and I always have it on me.
they just updated the ipod touch. i paid the £20 and got the email/weather/stocks added. Had to do a little digging but now have it linked with my hotmail
I just bought one to use during an upcoming vacation and I am throughly impressed. The worst feature is the non changeable battery. So don't expect to have it forever.
yea thats about right but you can get a brand new one off of ebay for about 300 for the 16Gb.....but thats just a matter of looking at the right time and you can go even cheaper if you dont mind refurbished
If you haven't jailbroken your ipod touch, then you really should get on it, I've now got msn, e-books, and am installing a mail checker on it. To get this, first go to your settings>>general>>about, and find out what firmware you have. If you have 7.1.1. , then you're in luck, just go to your ipod touch and type this on safari-> www.jailbreakme.com , scroll down and "Install Appsnapp" Safari will close and it will now download. It will take a minute or two, so don't touch anything. You'll then be asked to slide you finger, and then you'll see an installer.app From then on, it's all good, you can download anything you want. If you want to update to 1.1.2 then have oktoprep installed through the installer.app and update to 7.1.2 through Itunes. If you have 7.1.2, it's a lot harder. 1- Go here This is the Ituens 7.1.1 firmware. 2-Connect your Ipod to your PC/MAC. 3-Go to your Ipod on Itunes, and go to the part where it asks if you want to update or restore. Don't hit restore or you have to do all this sh*t again. If you're on Windows, hold shift while clicking, and if you're on a mac, hold option while clicking. If option doesn't work, click on it while holding alt. 4- Select the 1.1.1 firmware that you downloaded from the link above. 5- You now have 7.1.1. Surprised Follow instructions for 7.1.1. above. Jailbreaking 7.1.2. 1-Eject your device from itunes 2-Close Itunes fully 3- Download and extract http://rapidshare.com/files/72237156/1.1.2-jailbreak.zip that program. 4- If you have windows, and already have java installed, just double click on the windows.bat file. If you're on Mac, double click on the jailbreak.jar file http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=593 Can I recommend the above guide to all as it is hugely useful and simple. This App guide too.. http://www.modmyiphone.com/nativeapps/the-list/ How to get themes on your Touch 1- go to http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2939&am p;am p;page=1 You have to sign up, but it's so worth it. 2- download the themes you like. 3- You will now have a .zip file, extract it and it will become a document. 4- Get an FTP client program like cuteFTP (google it) 5-For the host type in your ipods ip address. Don't know it? Go to your ipod>settings>wifi>choose your connection, touch the blue arrow and you'll find the ip. user name: root password alpine 6- go to applications>summerboard and drag and drop the folder in there. Restart your ipod and there's your theme, available through the smb application. A list of all the sources you could need http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8180 HOW TO GET IPHONE APPS ON YOUR IPOD TOUCH Go to Installer Go to Sources Top right, hit edit then hit add type in http://repo.us.to Make sure you download the prep files before downloading the actual app. For example if you want mail down mobile mail prep and then download mail
There is no way to "brick" your iTouch if anything happens you just restore it. There are quite a few great guides on how to do it for an iTouch with any of the firmwares. Your short guide on installing apps is good, same with your jailbreak 1.1.1 but your 1.1.2 i think is not very clear and missing a few things. I think these guides below tell in a little more detail for those wanting to do it but dont completly understand whta it includes. There is now also firmware 1.1.3 that the new iPods have..... Because firmware 1.1.3 is very new id suggest using youtube and looking at iPodTouchMaster's videos they are normally pretty good. If you have firmwares 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 the go to http://oversite.org/iPodTouchPc.html if you have a Pc or if you have a Mac http://oversite.org/iPodTouchMac.html for full guides on how to do it.
