no dont just park your server during summer
you will LOSE traffic.
You have to have your site going no matter what..
there are still people sing it occasionally and stopping service will lead to no revisiting users.

Summer and low traffic times are the time you have to put in some cash from your previous profits.

 

Is the best way to increase traffic to your proxy via links in proxy mails to proxy groups? Or submissions to topsites? Or any other way

 

You still get enough traffic in the summer to pay for server costs. Profits may be down which is why you shouldn't just depend on proxy ad revenue, diversify.

 

Dumbest thing I've ever read on these forums. Are you trying to actually run a proxy service? Or are you just trying to make a quick buck and trash this market?

 

I got a zelune proxy and can't figure out where to add the adbrite code so it shows up on proxified pages. Any help is appreciated.

what is that network you are all talking about? I could not understand......I am a complete novice in proxies.

 

Aaarvard was a good a script. But it started to piss me off me off with button issue.
I deleted the button.php from the server and told the them in giant Bold font not to use the button, even deleted the button code from being shown to them. but they go ahead anyways and put the 404 button code on there proxy, Which I couldn't understand I figured at this point the proxy submiter must not even be even readin anything and just putting code on there homepage in hurry or something just by usernames (since all the button code is the same from topsite to topsite), so at that point I just got rid of it. and now the site is not even a aardvark topsite yet I get 100's of request a day for button.php. Which could cause server load if it were large enough, if you had that button being called off a few proxies getting thousands of uniques a day it could start to simulate a ddos attack to your server.
If you use that script I urge cuation....
Afterwards you will have button.php being called to your server for a long time even if you change your domain into something else

I just got to advertise my proxies now .. server is pretty much setup and is blocking users with too many connections.
I lost a lot of traffic due to downtime but I'm a new system admin and I'm not familiar with ddos attacks and stuff like that.

 

That adsense placement is likely to get you smartpriced.
I've done that before with the 3 skyscraper side by side. Good ctr but most of them I think hit the backbutton so there bad clicks for advertisers which will get you smartpriced.

few lines of content and 4-5 large ads is not a good idea.

at least put some rss feeds.
