I don't start many threads in here but I thought, as we're having a tidy up of all things shite here at DP, it might be the opportune moment to vent my spleen about this.

Threads with the sole purpose of boasting about earning oodles of money from ad clicks should be banned.

They contribute nothing and are no better than "my penis is bigger than your penis" type bragging threads.

    Comments please...

I would have to agree with you there, maybe create a bragging thread like the PR update thread. Especially for the sake of cleaning up the AdSense forum, with people just saying, 'Hey I earned $56.76 this month with AdSense woot!'.

and many ppl use those thread as bait. They usually put "pm me to learn how to do it" and then give out affiliate link in PM

also, ppl give out useless reply like "good job" "congart" to padding their post count

All posts in such threads are spam/or the category which you've an infraction - "Post has no value"

    Another vote for it.

I agree, but i think if people want to report their earnings perhaps there should be a sticky thread for them to do this in, that way it cleans the forum up and keeps them happy too.

    Agreed, however...

Also agreed. Sometimes its nice to share hard earned figures with people who understand exactly how difficult it is to achieve.

How in your mind would such a rule be worded?

    How about:

Also a note along the lines of:

I think that just about covers it. I'm sure the others reading this will chip in if they think of a better statement.

I agree totally, I don't really hang around the adsense forum so much but half of the clickbank forum is either complete newbies registered that day asking - "I AM 15 AND HAVE NO MONEY HOW CAN I MAKE AT LEAST 1,000$ A DAY WITH CLICKBANK 4 FREE??" Or Somone Spooling screenshots of their clickbank sales stats and when people ask either for some help or their niche the answer is "not telling....MAKE YOUR OWN WAY!"

I agree to banning the earnings related posts, but the threads from new guys asking for help should be left intact. Everyone starts from the bottom, and need help to climb the ladder

I do not mind people gloating about their earnings - as long as they provide a decent idea on how they did it, step by step etc. There are loads of things to be learned from here, and increasing Adsense earnings is certainly on the list. :)

Threads just like 'Wow! I make $2 yesterday. PM me plz to know how' should be scrapped and owner humiliated in public though :p

I guess it gives a bit of hope to the newbies, I'd kinda did for me, although the authors tell you practically nothing, Not even their own sites.

99% of them are lies anyways, so yes they are useless posts and not a good source of 'hope'.

I dunno at some point you have to stop hand holding and letting users decide for themselves what people are full of shit and which people are real. The bullshit artist usually get called out pretty fast.

I don't think some people do this intentionally, but a lot of people simply start threads like this to gain a little bit of traffic, and unfortunaly it work. If I started a thread saying I make $20,000 a month through my website, people just click out of curiosity...it's natural.
