What is PLR ?

Sorry folks if this question is really stupid but i have been seeing that word alot and just wondered what it really means ?

Tried searching on google, but i got nothing. Hope you all can help me out.

 

It stands for Private Label Rights

Private label rights give you total rights to products such as software, articles and eBooks. Unlike resell rights, where you have the right to sell a product, but not change it in any way, private label rights afford you the right to change the product in any way you like and claim it for your own.

In other words you can modify the product as you like. You can include links to your products or affiliate products, change or add any graphics you wish, edit or use the existing content as is and ultimately put your name on the product as the originator.

Yes, you should read the "rights" that come with the product. I've seen some PLR products that state that in order to claim yourself as the originator, at least 50% of the product has to be your own. To me, that is not a true PLR product as extensive rewriting is needed and you are not free to use it as you received it. I usually edit and end up rewriting much of the plr material that I use as I abhor bad grammar and spelling and don't want my name associated with any work that is not grammatically correct.
