Urgent question about digital point!

Ok, digital point runs vBulletin and so does my forum.

On digital point, when i login and view my user cp, it displays new private messages and subscribed threads in bold. When i view a private message / subscribed thread, it takes it off from being bold, and it also takes it off from being displayed on the user cp.

On my forum, when i go to my user cp, there are threads in bold, so i click them and go back to my user cp, and they are still being displayed there, but not in bold (because i have viewed them).

How can i get it so that when i view subscribed threads on my forum, it takes it off from the user cp (like digital point) ???

    Go to your AdminCP.
Then vBulletin Options -> vBulletin Options -> General Settings

Now scroll down to the option 'Thread/Forum Read Marking Type'
and tell me which option is selected on your forum ?

I assume you are running vB 3.6.8 or a recent non-beta version of vBulletin.

Try selecting the database marking option.
    (I suggest the automatic one).

Then test your setup when somebody PMs you...
or a new post is made in your subscribed thread.

Ok, i have changed it to...

    Database (automatic forum marking)

And it works fine (like digital point).

Can i just ask, whats the difference between...

Database (automatic forum marking) and Database (no automatic forum marking)???

    Great to hear that. :)

Quoted from the vBulletin AdminCP's documentation / help :

So, if you experience any slowness in your forum or high server loads,
switch to the Database (no automatic forum marking) option.

    Thanx,
    Shadab.
