Basically it will be like a normal hosting account, but with vBulletin installed, you are free to do what you wish with your vBulletin, modifications, skins, whatever you want. As long as your hosting that vBulletin is your to do what you wish. We have been thinking about doing vBulletin + vBSEO package too, what do you guys think?
Oh yes I am going to (if I decide to launch such a service), but I am thinking of ideas for the future.
I dont know if you're allowed to provide a copy of vbulletin to all of your members without having license for each one. I dont think you're going to buy a license for each person that decided to host with you.
He stated that he is going to byy a license for each person. But say a person says bye bye after a month and another person orders he can transfer the lincese to another domain.
I would be interested. Looking to upgrade to Vbulitin. Would it be possible to have the forum set as a subdomain (exp. www.yoursite.com/forum)? Currently I use siteground to host my PHBpp forum, wordpress blog and static directory under one domain. Would your hosting service allow this?
Ok so license is $160 each. So lets say you are serious about this business and launch it. You advertise it and the first month you get 50 people to sign up. 50 x $160 = $8000 That first month you will make 50x$15 = $750 - hosting It will have to take almost 10 1/2 months for you to make $8000 back. But you will probably get more people signing up within those 10 1/2 months so that's more money you will have to spend on the vbulletin license. Are you prepared to spend a lot of money on licenses if your idea becomes sucessfull? I personally dont think that you will buy new licenses for each person..lol but i might be wrong. Why not use phpbb its free! Then you're just making straight up profit.
After certain lincense like 2-3 or more you do get a discount. The more you buy more discount. Maybe $15 isn't right? $20 first month then $15 i dunno.
The reason he would not do it with PHPbb is becuase that is not a unique service. There are tons of host that will host phpbb. Vbulitin is a better forum but it cost 160 to buy the lisence. His service would basically eliminate the upfront cost of the Lisence for just paying what you would typically be paying for hosting.
Yes you also have to check the hosting too. How much will hosting cost per month? For each vbulletin. Then how much profit will you make?
Yes I can as long as I buy a license for each person which we are going to do if we decide to launch such a service. 'Every' customer will get a genuine vBulletin forum installed on their hosting package. Thanks for confirming that . The reason why I am looking to launch such a program is because of people like you who are looking to use the vBulletin package at an affordable price. I'll let you know if we launch then . I want to do something a little more different then the current services offered on the web at the minute. $15 will be the smallest price, with doing the maths we have seen that we will be able to offer the packages for as little as $15. Exactly, I couldn't of said it any better than you just did. Top secret, people can wonder all they want. But if I do launch and make a successful service I will write a case study e-book to tell you all how I figured it out. But I don't want to run before I walk yet...still in the lab with this one.
So How much is your hosting expense going to be. Like people want lots of space and bandwidth and wan't a good host with good uptime if Not then no one is gona buy.
They will get plenty of disk space and bandwidth, and uptime they won't need to worry about. I'll get testimonials from the first customers so people will be able to see what the service is like. I might open this service in BETA first and only have the service open to the first so many people or something like that, until the service is stable and established.
I had this idea awhile back but decided not to proceed with it An affiliate system would be great and get you more sales Good luck if you decide to launch I wish you all the best wonderful idea and I think many people will find this a useful service Rick
Sounds like a good idea, however with all the users on the server running vBulletin forums, I wonder what kind of resources you would be able to provide in the standard package and whether people will be forced to upgrade to bigger packages too soon.
