    Hey all,

    Help me out please.

I am looking into using a wordpress blog with adsense. Am I correct in saying that it must be a wordpress.org one, rather than a wordpress.com? You can't add adsense in a wordpress.com blog, right?

Also, any plugins or advice you can share on adsense within a wordpress blog? Any and all info/ tips/ tricks will really be useful.

    Thank you!!!!!

    :)

P.S. Is it hard to upload wordpress onto the host server? Anyone here that could help do that?

It's pretty difficult finding a good free AdSense enabled theme. I recommend the AdSense Connections theme. Works fine for me.

    Thank you so much.

Wordpress.com gives the option to point the blog to your own domain, so I was stuck trying to figure that out. Then I read somewhere about wordpress.org. It seems like the .org is a "hidden" treasure. At least I now know. Thank you for those links. I will check them out.

Any other tips you guys can give?

    :D

Exactly what does it mean when a theme is "adsense ready"? Probably a dumb question, but I know nothing about this. Do you just copy and paste adsense html in certain widgets? How does that work?

It means that those themes were designed with adsense ads in mind that they already included an adsense script or scripts into the theme. Once you've installed one, what you need to do now is to change the adsense ID into your own. Otherwise you will be publishing an adsense ad of another person. Which in these cases are the them authors. Hope this helps

wordpress.org is the official WP site and others with different extentions are private sites. yuo can get a theme from anywhere, it doesn;t really matter. you don;t have to have a theme from the official site. if you are looking for an adsense ready theme, you can just search google for adsense wordpress theme or something and you will find a lot

Gotcha. I was going over the instructions to upload wordpress to my host server. It looks hard. I am so not good at technical issues. Hope I'm wrong.

I think you'll have to know what cpanel is because you'll need to create database when do the wordpress installation.

cPanel is a control panel that allows you to control everything from adding / removing email accounts to administering MySQL databases and more.

Where did you purchase your host package?

If you get hosting with cPanel then you can use Fantastico to install WordPress, far less complicated than dealing with databases and all that mate. Another tech dumb-dumb here :p

StartLogic. I think they call the cpanel the vdeck? It's where you control everything. I really suck at the tech stuff. I did figure out how to do the ftp though (big deal 4 me lol).

OK. Now I see. Cpanel is short for Control Panel. Yes, it's called the vdeck in StartLogic. :O)
