    A lot of people might already know about this trick but usually I check my Adsense account at Noon and then before I go to sleap, and sometimes I notice that a certain site of mine get several clicks and I wonder where is the traffic coming from.

    Well if you use Awstats from your Cpanel you will notice that it does not update automatically, it usually has a 24 hour delay, so you basically would have to wait until the next day to see where the traffic was coming from and from where did those clicks came from.

    Well here is a nice trick to get instant Awstats updates.

    1. Log in to your cpanel account.
    2. Open file manager
    3. Go to your TMP folder
    4. Go to your AWSTATS folder
    5. find the file AWSTATS.YOURSITENAME.COM.CONF
    6. Edit that file
    7. Find this line using CTRL + F
    AllowToUpdateStatsFromBrowser=0
    8. Change the value 0 to 1 and SAVE
    9. Close the window and now open your AWSTATS
    10. Now on the upper side of the screen you will see a link that says: Update Now. Click on it and YOU GOT YOUR STATS LIVE!

    Like I said this is not a new trick, some people does not even use Awstats but for people that use Awstats it works great.

    Here is another trick - if you get paid fairly well, your traffic is coming from USA/UK ;

    That is actually very true, usually when I see .01 clicks and check my stats, my traffic is coming from other than the USA or UK countries.

    Good point.

    I like Google analytics, but when I install a new site I do not automatically put the javascript, Awstats comes preinstalled with any host, so most people actually use it.

    Great tips for newbies :)

    Although this is old news for me :p Google Analytics is better because you can exclude the traffic coming from your ip ;)
