Adsense colors are showing up black??????????

Discussion in 'Placement / Reviews / Examples' started by Ellen C. Braun, Feb 6, 2006.

This is my first Adsense site: http://www.raisingsmallsouls.com/dir/parenting-advice/

I want the titles of my Adsense leaderboard to be blue, and I keep updating the colors, pasting the code, uploading it, and it's still black!!! Why???

Also, why is my leaderboardr showing 3 instead of 4 ads?

Also, after adding the leaderboard, I removed the adsense code from the right sidebar, and it's still there!!! Why???

Do I have an Adsense ghost hanging around my site?

Thanks in advance for your help!;)

If your text or link color is too close to the BG color, adsense reverts to black thinking your a hiding the ads.

one suggestion that may sound stupid, but i know of some people overlooking this fact.

clear your cache. sometimes what you're seeing is an old image.
this is normal. this is google telling you you'll earn more with 3 than 4. :)

Ok, so I changed the blue to be another blue, and it showed up!

Now, I hate to sound stupid, but is refreshing a page NOT the same thing as clearing my cache? The ads are still showing in the right sidebar although I removed their code from the page!!!!

Thanks, Devin, I'm just curious what factors are involved in giving me 3 rather than 4 ads in a leaderboard, and how I can know how many will show up?

Bottom line you can't control how many ads will be shown in leaderboard. I have seen 2, 3, or 4 myslef. If you want to be sure the number suspect the only way to go is one of the formats that supports only one ad.

I suggest you try to view site on multiple machines running multiple resolutions and diffent browsers. The font on my machine is wway to big. Only seening one or two words a line with very few lines per page.

WOW!!! How did that happen in IE??? Very Weird! I'll post to a wordpress forum, unless you know???

    Thanks for all your feedback!

Anyone know why the adsense in the right sidebar is still showing up, although I removed the code? I've read that you get higher paying ads and better CTR's with only one block of adsense per page, so I'm just gonna go with the leaderboard for now- no matter how many ads google puts in it!

The large text is just google showing a high paying ad. As for the sidebar, the code was not removed, the adcode is still in the source. Make sure you saved the file and uploaded properly.

Hey Ellen: Someone pointed this out to me on my site ....

Publishers may not label the ads with text other than "sponsored links" or "advertisements." This includes any text directly above our ads that could be confused with, or attempt to be associated with Google ads.

Riboflavin: WHERE are you seeing adsense in the source regarding the sidebar? I had it in sidebar.php, and I removed it, and it's not there anymore!

    Golfhome: Thanks for the tip!

Mella: Looking at the header objectively... I decided to have a new one created!

in most cases refreshing SHOULD solve the problem of old cache images, but my office PC don't work that way (you havbe to manually clear the cache), so you just want to be doubly sure. :)
