Hello, I was wondering if anyone has noticed any relation between site PR and the CPC of a site. I had a PR5 site and it was my highest paying site, the site got removed from google ( automatically PR dropped to zero ) and the CPC almost immediately dropped three fold. I know cpc has been falling all across the board, but I was wondering if Google PR, age of the site or any other factors besides traffic had affect on Adsense earnings. any ideas? Reragards Vlad
I have a 0PR website and I'm earning very nice. Only when I'll have a PR (the site is 3 months old) I will see if there is any difference... I don't think there is but you can't never know..
But your sites showing visible pagerank of 0 may have actual pagerank that is higher. It will be interesting to see your pageranks after the next update. Shannon
And where can one take a look of the "unvisible actual pagerank"? I think nowhere. And what is if he is totally removed from Googles Searchengine? Maybe he is out for 3 month or 1 or 2 years. I suppose PR Update will be in some weeks.
you don't =] the odds of guessing google PR update date in vegas are about 1:365 Also, a lot of you guys mentioned doing will with PR0 sites, that does not mean that you could not be doing better once PR is updated. There has to be more to this whole CPC thing that just keywords, I run 12 different sites in the same niche and CPM varies from $0.40 cents to $7.00, the only trend I can see so far is the age of the site, it seems that the older the site is the higher paying ads you get. Maybe just another crazy coincidence but seems to be true. Have a good week
Even if the sites are in the same niche, that sort of CPM variation would be normal just because of the content of the pages. I have different pages on the same site that vary that wildly - they have different text so different ads get picked up. Advertisers will pay more for certain phrases depending on how likely they think someone searching for it will actually buy. Go run your pages through the adsense sandbox tool on this site - if they're showing different ads, then it's the text and not age or anything that's causing the difference.
I would have to disagree, for my niche - online games, there is no way that wording could mean 20x difference in CPM. With each site having 1000 games/pages and xx,xxx views, law of averages is bound to take over, especially considering since 90% of games, thus keywords are the same. There have to be other factors in this equation to cause such fluctuation
I have a PR4 site (soon to be PR5) - +100.000 pageviews/day and the overall CPC is just about as bad as it can get. Ofcouse I don't have an identical site with lower PR so it's impossible to compare, but if I have the benefit of PR on this one - I'd have to pay google money to show adsense on one with PR0.
I have noticed that you are located in Denmark. If most of your traffic is coming from countries other than US, UK, Canada CPC rates tend to be a lot lower, sometimes you will see multiple clicks for 0.00
It's actually mainly US and UK - however the sites topic isn't the most lucrative. If I had the traffic I do with a high paying subject, I'd be a happy man.
Yeah, tell me about it, my sites produce x,xxx clicks daily and my earning have not once broke the $xxx.xx mark, my site is in a very overpopulated niche so all the high bids are pretty much at the limit first hours of the day and the rest of the day sites are being fed penny ads, frustrating, but still no alternatives
I remember reading somewhere that a site’s page rank is increased if that site has adsense ads. Is this true? Because if it is here is one reason to have 0 cent ads…
0 cent ads are just a fraction of the whole picture, just some google randomness for one of the channels once in a while, but in the big picture of xx,xxx clicks in a month, CPM earnings still seem to have dropped after the site went from 5 to 0.
