10 year old domain... currently have no traffic details, but the domain is amazing just based on brandability.. what do you guys think of the domain? What route would you go with this? Free image host? or re-sell the domain? I want 1 site to put all my time and effort into , instead of running 10-20 smaller sites... Do you think a free image host has a lot of potential nowadays with all the other picture hosts available? I personally think the domain name is amazing... or maybe it's just me... i was thinking of doing something like smugmug.com, a paid image host... but i really don't know what avenue i wanna go with this.
if you have money to invest , well ys go for it . youll have to advertise and everything. it wil take time and you might have no revenue at first. its not easy.

You have captured really a nice domain name and the most important thing as per seo, is the domain age. It's a 10 years old. Really done nice work but do you know, only this would not be sufficient. I respect your decision to promote one domain (business) instead of promoting 10 domains since your energy will be equvalent to full 1 instead of 1 divided in 10. I have the same experience with my several domain. Now I myself is promoting only 2 major domains out of 25 domain I am having. Free hosting would not be easy decision. You need to consider when your site grows, lets say, your site will be providing free hosting to 5 million guys with 1 gb (very common now a days) free of cost, Will you able to provide those ? Do you have good financial position. Please keep in mind your brand image. If you promote your self as free hosting provider and later say, after 2-3 year, you could not able to provide that free and makes it chargable, your whole business will be ruined and what about your brand image. I have seen several fee email provider in 1998-99 and have vanished from market only because of this policy. So you need to take care of your business model. How you will generate revenue ? what other revenue source you can absorb in near future. That can help you to provide free hosting or paid hosting. Let's say the best example is google. Why google's almost all the product is free ? It's all because of it's sound business modal. You might not be agree with me right now, but once you entered in this market, you will remember my advice in future when you will face difficulty to sustain yourself in the industry. There are several other competitor for you in market are existed as file hosting or image hosting and they are doing well in there specific area. You need to observe them. What could be their business modal. How they are sustaining themselves. All these are very important for you before entering in the free hosting market. Market research is very important to take right decision in this situation. May be you yourself feel this. Do not take me wrong that I am discouraging to enter in FREE hosting market, but I am advising you to accept this challenge and go ahead with sound business plan. I want to see you as succeeded. I to like the domain name and i would keep it if it was mine, you will have to do some image theme for yiur website as that would fit the name best. anyway good luck in what every road you take as this whole internet game is getting harder If you are good at advertising then your half way there
Its all about your passion, IF you are going to promote only one site you should think do you want to promote image hosting site ?? Of course you can test what your domain is worth, just put it on auction and see what you can get, set reserve and if bidding wont reach that keep the domain and open a site.
Well.. I could easily say that you've got a premium domain. A bit of promotion in forums, and blogs, etc could help you kick it off
That is an amazing domain, how much did it cost you? Anyway I agree with what NicheDomainExpert said. Personally I think free image hosting would be easier and it's what I'd do; I think it is definitely viable with a domain like that.
Excellent domain. I would recoomend making a unique image host. That would stand out of the croud. It would be better to give free and paid hosting together but with less limits in the free at start. Good luck.
