    Hey domainers!

Just wanted to see if I could get some help getting the word out about http://whois-it.com

Fast easy whois service. You can type whois-it.com/yourdomain.com to get whois info on any domain.

ALSO - The site has an easy to use link (bottom of the homepage). Just drag and drop it into your FireFox, or Netscape Links section and you can do a WHOIS on any site you are currently looking at.

For example, if you are visiting www.georgeboone.com just click the Whois-It link in your browser and it will take you to http://whois-it.com/www.georgeboone.com and give you the whois info. Quick easy way to get whois info right from your browser without typing!

So if you're linking to whois info in a forum please use http://whois-it.com/domain.com :)

And of course if there are any features you'd like to see added to the site to make it easier or more useful just let me know :D

    Thanks,

    - George

Neat domain name and neat that you can go directly to the info without first bringing up your home page and then type in domain name to research.

That's a great site I really like the ability to do a whois for whatever domain I'm on, I've installed the bookmark thing and intent to use it often.

This is a really nice site, I will use this. Wanna sell it? :)

Also, the animated favicon looks cool, if you have Firefox.

Wow... that is cool! Didn't know you could animate a favicon. where is there a tutorial about that? I'd like to know if there are any size and weight restrictions for those type of icons

I have a real fear for "whois" services.

I know a lot of people use them to see if a domain name is still available. I do that. And I know some whois services log and report on, the searches made.

One or two ("apparently!") are run by people who like to get there first.

Imagine using a whois site, finding that that "amazing" domain name is available, and then seeing that it had been snapped up quickly between searching and registering...

    It happens.

I use my registrars whois for most things.

If I want info about a domain I use whois.sc.

I have a low trust threshold...

I have suspected the same thing as well.

I was watching a domain name for a client. He did not pay for it ontime and his registrar wanted $200 + registration fee for him to register during redemption period. He refused to pay and we bought the dot net version. The domain name was snapped before I had a chance to try to buy. The hilarious thing is it is a person's first and last name and hence not much good to anybody that does not have that name. There are plenty of extensions available in that name. I expect buyer to hold it for a long time or drop it. :D It is about time for me to check suspected whois for it again. I certainly need for buyer to think it is valuable.

I found a place to make Free Animated FavIcons:

    http://www.html-kit.com/favicon/

Looks like it can be 16x16 or 32x32 - The text length is limited to about 30 chrs.
