Here are the latest odds for the Republican Nomination, can it really be that Insane McCain could get it? 19th January 2008 @ 0100 GMT John Mccain 11/8 Rudolph Giuliani 3/1 Mitt Romney 7/2 Mike Huckabee 5/1 Ron Paul 16/1 Fred Thompson 25/1
Unlikely. If he doesn't win SC, he might be done. Or, if he does, Giuliani might be done. Either way, tomorrow in NV and SC, but specifically SC, we're probably going to see some people drop out.
Surely Thompson has to go mate. Can't see any of the others dropping out just yet fella, especially Giuliani. That fake scumbag is gonna be in it to the bitter end I fear.
The one who doesn't have a fortress state is Huckabee. It's unlikely he will be able to win many contests in massive delegate states if he can't win SC and roll that momentum into Florida. Giuliani has basically put all of his eggs into Florida, and he's already running out of cash. If he flops in Florida, I think he will stay in, but how long could be dictated by how much neocon power is behind him. Thompson will stay in at least until his home state of Tennessee. It's a state he can win. I think if Huckabee finishes 3rd or lower in SC, he's in big trouble. He's hardly campaigned in Nevada, and he's unlikely to do fantastically well in California or New York. I'd like to see McCain win SC, Romney win Florida. That would push Rudy down, and likely mortally wound Thompson and Huckabee.
Giuliani is the neocon kingpin mate, I still have the scumbag down as getting the Republican call and his betting odds reflect a possibility. I've predicted a Giuliani v Clinton for a long time now, with Hillary continuing the grand tradition of Bushes and Clintons and Clintons and Bushes and Bushes and Clintons and Clintons and Bushes. So you think Thommo will stay in till Tennessee? He's been pretty piss poor so far mate. I'm amazed at the attraction for McCain, the guy is completely and utterly insane. As for Ron Paul, we both know that he hasn't got a hope in hell of getting the G.O.P call but the message is what matters, my question to you is: would RP be better running as an independant for the Presidency after he doesn't get the call for G.O.P? I think he might cause quite a stir. If only Americans were not so dumbed down by the BS that is fed to them every single day Paul would be President, no doubt about that at all. But people seem to be happy for these other fools to be in charge. I don't get it mate.
Just want to clarify - who predicted it? I "predict" Giuliani is back to doing drag bits - only this time, it's later than Leno and Letterman.
Well it's pretty simple if you do a bit of reading. It's Bushes and Clintons and Clintons and Bushes and Bushes and Clintons and Clintons and Bushes. It has been so since 1981* and it ain't going to change any time soon. * = Includes the 8 years that Pappy Bush as VP was pulling Reagan's strings.
Ron Paul's policies are sound, things would be different if he had the looks, the speaking ability, and the presense of Ronald Reagan. Sometimes he seems sharp while other times you have to wonder if age isn't catching up with him. (It certainly has for McCain.) Some people says Ron Paul's a kook but I think coot is more apt. The guy seems like he's on the verge of senility.
Isnt it a shame that a candidate is judged upon, looks, persona and speaking ability. Are we as americans as a whole not educated enough on what each candidate stands for. The guy i want to see drop out is romney, who looks like he just tries to pick his spots with RP and uses that absolutely stupid smirk to make himself think that he knows what hes talking about. I bet the guy just copies and pastes his remarks and prints them from his pc lol.
I agree it is a shame but that is what America and other Americanized societies like Australia have been conditioned to react to. It's not about the issues, its about how you look, how you present yourself, and how you're promoted by the mainstream media. That is why we have celebrities such as actors and musicians advocating we should do this, or we should do that - as if they have some kind of extra incite into the world due to their celebrity. Barack Obama is an intelligent man but he completely lacks any kind of substance in terms of actual policy. He is however a powerful public speaker and everything about his brand is congruent with the alpha statesman, following in the tradition of Clinton, and Kennedy. He just seems presidential. Why is that?
