    Is SEO contracted on a yearly basis? How much is the monthly payment to the SEO company or agency?

    Kindly guestimate in U.S. Dollars.

    google actually always changes their criteria on their algorithms and always making thier search algoz more smarter.. and always updates their PR criteria, thatz why seo guyz always need research to make their Page ranking consistent or more better..

    secondly, seo is a continous process.. and it really depends on mutual understanding between both parties that you want yearly contract or monthly bases or whatever.. But seo is a continous process....

    regarding fee, it depends on different company or an individual policy..

    As such i dont take seo work, basically i am a programmer.. but someone, an existing client asked me to do seo his website, and i asked US$ 100 weekly, that speaks reasonable to him..
