Directory-Owners forum closes down - there is a message for us too!

Sabu ( vegabond) just informed me that Directory-Owners Forum has been closed and when I checked it found a message --

 

priceless.

 

I don't know the forum(or url) but it reads between the lines as though he didn't get his piece of PR from his friends at Google.

Can't work out why he would think like that

 

Where does it say he didn't get his share of the PR, i believe he just went tired of greedy webmasters.

FFS doesn't anybody read replies before commenting. I Said

 

Good for Tom and MGS.. i knew they were fed up of the threads there, the same PR related topics etc.
In the end, there were a few harsh replies from them too.. Anyways seeing DP coming back with some good directory related topics in this section, i am not much affected with the closure.

I never used it so never knew of anything going on there, shame to see someone feel that way to the extent of closing down their forum.

 

Kinda stupid to open one in the first place and not expect it. Owners, Administrators and Moderates should not be biased, they should create rules.

It’s easy to get mad with all the rubbish that gets posted about directories, always someone waiting to knock them.

Hmmm.. maybe this is first time I see the forum. Look very good.. Lets see how long the forum will close..

 

I personally think it is a waste of so much potential, although I agree there are quite some directory owners that completly gone off track, remember web directories are here to serve users, by a good collection of listings, and factors like PR, Alexa are worth nothing.

that was a nice forum, sad to see it closed.

 

Sad to see it closed, it was a nice forum while it lasted and I visited it often until the administrator started to make nasty remarks about bid directories. Tom is a nice guy but something inside him turned sour as of late. I wish him well and I hope his rhetoric is simply a burst of emotion in the heat of the moment.

What is with all this anti-PR s**t ? PR-PageRank is one of the biggest factors in SEO.
At least that is what google itself says !

How come PR is worth nothing when the whole "industry" makes prices on PageRank ?

Get in your heads people. PR is important and the whole google SE algorithm is based around it ! You are misleading people !
