i spilled liquid on my laptop's keyboard last night.
After letting a fan blow on it for a few hours, i find that the keyboard isn't working. (i can get 2 keys to work)
Now I can't logon at the vista login screen!

    Any ideas guys?
Can i just get a new keyboard, (its a fairly new gateway)

On a good note, it seems i can browse the laptops files over the network even when its sitting at the login screen..

You better have it checked by a technician.

Does your laptop allow you to plug in an external keyboard? If it does, you should try that first.

If it is the keyboard, you should easily be able to get a replacement. I got a new kb for my old Portege a while ago, it was only $80 AUD delivered, and was really easy to install (simple ribbon cable with a snap clip thingy).

You can try giving it some time maybe it will start working again. IMHO you should try getting your lappy cleaned up before using it again ... that's just a precaution if you don't want to have any unpleasant surprises.

Dissemble your keyboard and clean it very well, get a swab and make sure you get everything out, there probably will be a lot of dust and stuff.

If it gets sticky you can use a swab to try and keep getting it, that worked for me
