    You do know it's a common SEO myth that .edu links are any better then any other kinds of links? Just ask Matt Cutts. ;)

    No need, if you buy the site it would be FOOLish for you to delete all the posts in there as some have page ranks and such.

    Leaving the site the way it is and just adding your own content is the best way to go when buying a domain / site off someone.
