Blog Comments

Just wondering if blog comments generally get indexed or not.

If they do get indexed, and have the posters web url... are they indexed as part of the blog post? Or is each blog comment indexed as separate pages?

Do they, can they or will they pass the "link juice" of the blog?

Thanks for your thoughts and insight.

    Comments do get indexed.

If the comments are DoFollow they pass the PR of the page they are associated with.

Is DoFollow the same as not have the "no follow" attribute?

Yes, if there's no nofollow tag around a link, then it will get followed by bots.

Comments do count and get indexed but you have to be careful if you use this method that your comments are not just spam. If you want to build good links from comments, contribute something to the blogs with good quality comments and you can than add your link. Most good blogs will delete spam and it will also build a bad rep for the site you are linking to.

The default for many blog software, such as Wordpress, is do not follow since do follow encourages spam. It also leaks PR - or so it is said.

Also a good way to make your links more powerful is where you put your name down put the keywords you're trying to rank for.
