Adsense is Not Working and I need Direction in Affiliates

I have never done an affiliate program and I need some advice and education on it. I have a site www.freetattoodesigns.biz as you can see i have adsense on there but the CPC is way too low. Now I am looking for an alternative is an affiliate program mean I only get paid when someone from my site makes a purchase? How exactly do they work and does anyone have a suggestion given my niche? Is amazon any good?

 

You have many type of affiliate programs.

ppc - they pay per click
ppa/ppl - they pay per action/lead
pps - they pay per sale
ppm - they pay per 1000 impressions

this are some tattoo related affiliate programs that you can use:

tattoos-by-design.co.uk they will pay 30% for sale
starlighttattoo.com
buddha-tattoo.com - 25$ per sale

You can also try some affiliate programs network like clickbank where you can sell meny tattoo related products. If you wanna use amazon then make shure you find some tattoo related books (learn how to tattoo, tattoo pictures,..) and maybe some other products.

just took a look at clickbank it looks pretty promising are there any tax implications i should worry about? don't know if you are from the US or not. Also, is it against any TOS to promote clickbank products with adwords? Or YSM? Or MSN adcenter?

also is there any way to display banner ads etc with clickbank or is it just links like the one on that page that i have put ???
