Hey guys, I'm gonna pick up a 20" iMac, the new one. I am going to go to http://www.macsales.com/ and pick up a 4GB RAM kit. I am going to just buy the iMac at it's base price and then buy and install the ram. with the processor that the iMac comes with, (the cheapest one) it will handle 4GB of ram good, right? Just making sure, as I don't wanna spend more, but if it's not gonna utilize all 4GB of RAM, then I might consider... Thanks in advance... Regards, - Mark
most times its better of to purchase it upgraded when you get your iMac. but then since you're not sure if you'll need that much, just upgrade later. However you have to make sure your iMac can handle that amound by that certain brand when you purchase later on.
he is correct if you do not think you need 4Gb of ram do not get it now. It's an easy upgrade later. This way you can find out if the Mac you buy will even support it also. Shawn
Thanks guys, I had just heard that like if your processor isn't nice enough, you mac can't like really use all the RAM's potential, but, being a mac, I'm sure it'll be fine
