    Hello,

This is a question of SEO gurus :)

Is normal when a domain pass of PR0 to P4 that the serp's drop?

PR and SERPs are becomming less related with each google update. I have some sites which drop in PR but increase in SERPS and traffic. Its google's way of trying to stop people seling PR links, PR on its own is no longer an indication of a sites "status" in google, its just a link popularity calculation.

I love how people continue to think that PR is the only factor which influences a sites SERP. PR is ONE of MANY factors which influence a websites ranking for a given keyword or phrase. Just because a PR2 website ranks higher than a PR4 website for a given keyword does NOT make the case that PR plays no role in determining its SERP. It means that Google feels that the PR2 site is more relevant than the PR4 website given its backlinks, keyword density and many other factors that go into Googles formula.

When someone says that PR has nothing to do with a websites SERPs needs to read up more on Search Engine Optimization.

    Well said..
Also remember that the Toolbar PR update is simply an 'export' from a certain point in time. The "real" PR that Google uses updates far more often than once every few months - some say the real PR changes on a daily basis. So the PR "export" that we are beginning to see is already old info - therefore there should be even less of a connection in today's toolbar rank and today's (or tomorrow's) SERP rank.

I was told and have never done different that the only way to get a site ranking for keywords in the search engines is to build quality backlinks and update your site regularly, nothing else. Like I say I have never done anything different, my site has no pr yet ranks in the top 10 for google for its main keyword!
My rankings have changed, funnily enough they seem to have rocketed up from lower positions to higher pages, I hope its permanent :)

    Hello,
I don't know if serp or pr are related, just I tell you my experience yesterday one of my site had pr0, I was getting traffic from Google correctly, get around 500 unique visit a day, today morning I wake up, I saw the site with PR4, but 0 traffic and gone of Google..

As you can see I dont know if the serp and pr are related as say Brinked DP user, only I can tell that is coincidence or not...

    Best,
    jakomo

The site that's has to do with the topic (that has content relevant to it) will have a higher value or the site that has the higher authority on the topic like cnn.com. That has nothing to do with PR. If I am to post that on a cooking site it will never get ranked except if I post "What x person likes for lunch".
